This is Nellie (Cox) Beyersdoerfer and her 4 children, Ada, Freida, Jay & Bill. This was one of the first years that the annual Beyerdoerfer reunion started. For more than 25 years, this reunion faithfully occured every summer in Pendleton County Kentucky at the Kincaid Lake State Park. That is, until the park service took away our shelter and transformed it into a golf pro shop! Sadly, we have no where to hold our reunion anymore. We really miss seeing the changes of growth while catching up on old times, but even more fun.....we got to eat wonderful homecooking til we wobbled around like fat little piggies!
Hey look Ma, we're famous! This bunch is quite a sight to see as even the local media wanted to record these goings on. This is one of the early reunion years also. Nellie in the middle, surrounded by the family of her eldest son, Bill.
This is another long running reunion. The Pace/Conley reunion near Portsmouth Ohio has also been going on longer than 25 years. For years it was held in Ohio, but in recent years the group has crossed the river into Greenup County Kentucky. This bunch of relatives has grown enormous! This picture is just one of the decendant groups that join the fun: the children and a few grandchildren of Bessie Louise (Pace) and Charles Daniels.
These three ladies are the daughters of Fannie Lou (Conley) and "Prince" Albert Pace. (L-R) Bessie, Sarah, & Alberta. Sadly, only one is left with us here on earth; Alberta and Sarah grew their wings and went "home" to enjoy a heavenly family reunion within the past few years.
This is a collage of the many years worth of memories created here. See, I told you it's been going on a LONG time!
This was a giant family adventure about 15 years ago. It was kind of a mobile reunion since many of the faces from the Pace/Conley reunion were present. The trip was an attempt to find the old homeplace of Fannie(Conley) and Albert Pace (seen below) in Magoffin County Kentucky. The house burnt down many years earlier and all we found was a dirt spot, some stone, and tin roofing. Oh yeah, and a lizard or two!
Here we are digging for some family treasure....."@%#$&* nothing under there."
Now we are resting after all that digging! Whew! What a day!
Here are some earlier pictures of the Pace siblings as they gathered over the years.
The sisters above are L-R: Pearl, Marie, Dora, Alberta, Bessie and Sarah. The two to the right are Pearl and Alberta.
